How to Make a Photo Booth Strip (Free)
Make a classic photo booth strip from your own photos: the right size, layout and styling, free online or on iPhone.
The photo booth strip, four photos stacked in a narrow column, is back. It's on wedding tables, in birthday cards and all over Instagram stories. You don't need a booth to make one.
Here's how to make a photo strip from photos you already have.
Classic photo strip size
A traditional strip is 2 × 6 inches, which is 600 × 1800 pixels at 300 dpi. Many printers print two strips side by side on one 4×6 photo, which you then cut in half.
For sharing on your phone, a 9:16 story canvas with four or three stacked photos looks great.
Make one online, free
- Open our collage maker.
- Choose the photo strip layout (four stacked photos) or three stacked rows.
- Pick the 9:16 or 2:3 size.
- Add four photos and drag each one to centre the faces.
- Set spacing to about 20 and choose a white or black background, the classic booth look.
- Download it. For a print, place two strips side by side on a 4×6.
Make one on iPhone
In FotoCollage, start a new project, choose a stacked layout, add your photos and use borders and a background colour for the frame. Add a date or names at the bottom in a simple font, and a filter (black and white looks very "booth").
Ideas for photo strips
- Four expressions: smile, laugh, silly face, kiss.
- Wedding favour: the couple's photos plus names and date.
- Best friends: one photo from each year of your friendship.
- Pet strip: four poses of your dog or cat.
Tip: black-and-white plus a thin white border instantly makes any four photos look like a real booth strip.
